..a strange, loud knock when raising my foot off the clutch following a gear change - regardless of quick or slow foot movement. This sound is includes a wonderful jolt feeling through my arm on the centre console.

Gears do not crunch and noise and sound are not always present. Any ideas?

Thanks to all for the advice and suggestions. I thought I would give an update.

Well, I brought a new Polyurethane Bush set and went to replace the things yesterday. What a pain in the a***! ... and after 2 hours of swearing and sweating I ended up putting it all back together again job unfinished.

It turns out that the bushes themselves were not really the problem, but the rear bush mount has actually cracked in half!...and in addition I realized that both lower rear wishbones have cracked clean across the anti-roll bar mounts and the near-side diff seal is poking out the side about 5mm.

Now, seeing that my main work season is about to kick off and I don't have time myself to do these things... its gonna get expensive.

Bugger.

Alternatively,

Drain and remove fuel tank.
Cut a 200 x 200mm square in the flat fibreglass panel adjacent to the mount.
Replace mount.
Torque up correctly, (can't do this otherwise).
Replace panel, glass in or rivet in situ,(I did for future access).
Replace tank.
Job done.

Approx 1/2 days work.
