S1 E-type hood - products to clean the interior?
Discussion
Hi,
The interior of my hood has a broad strip of cloth material, running from the leading edge of the hood and across the full width. With the hood down, the cloth is uppermost and open to the elements - I have a hood bag but was never happy with the fit (too loose), hence the cloth has become pretty grimy.
It looks (to my inexperienced eye) tricky to replace, so my question is - can anyone recommend a cleaner that I could try, without getting the cloth too wet and risking shrinkage?
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Regards,
Dom

I tried once but got nowhere, but that was a long time ago. Anyway, no E-type hood seal perfectly and if you get caught in the rain then water stains will form and they don't shift. Just live with it like me. Interestingly, someone tried desperately to buy the car from me at Silverstone just because it is so patinated. He said that cars like mine are becoming extremely rare!
