Euro Finals - Pro Modified Entry
Discussion
Pro mod for me over here and in the US seems to be going away from hotrodding. Not entirely but some of the shapes they use now are becoming slippier and going the turbo route.
Me myself I prefered it when there were more full sized cars based on American Muscle and had less camaros racing and more Business Coupes. Baddillac is an exeption and iam sure some of the more interesting body shapes are still in use but not as much in pro mod.

they diddnt have more track time when they left the main event and went to tierp the first time round, when a 24 was the bump at tierp and it was in the 7s at santa pod 3 weeks earlier, that aint track time,
at tierp last weekend only lindbergs beat their pb out of the front runners and of cource martin lundqvist
record bump at santa pod is a 6.50 i beleive

I disagree with the turbo route gives more diversity but im with you on the car bodys litterally becoming pro camaro was abit disappointed with mr robinson switching to a camaro especially after having previously unique bodyied cars but can kinda understand y, graham correct if im wrong im guessing its coz those shells have been more refined and more readily available or sponsor related.Me myself I prefered it when there were more full sized cars based on American Muscle and had less camaros racing and more Business Coupes. i dont think sponsorship comes into it
they are just refined lightweight and slippery off the shelf so you know it works right out of the box and dont spent time testing and developing your bodyshell, i can see why Andy has gone that route
be thankfull they are not all C5 vettes cause that is another body that seems to work well...

yes i forgot that one to be fair nicholas dont travel to the UK too much, he has a prety simmilar power set up to johan its all from Mike janis although he is without doubt one of the bigger hitters in europe that gets overlooked as he dont end up high in the championship and dont come to the UK...apologys to Magnus (car owner)and Nicholas for the oversite,
there is no doubt that the track at tierp is killer, todays fast pro mods have limited downforce unlike the days gone buy when aircraft carrier decks were the fasion
if the track prep isnt spot on they just wont run, or they wont run their usual numbers,
where they are in the running order also affects their handling, Id have to say that pro mod cars are without doubt the most track sensitive cars in this sport period,

First Brit into the 5's?
Jackhammer, Stude or the Bird?
probably none of themJackhammer, Stude or the Bird?
the stude probably wont do that at the moment and will be retired at the end of the year,
the cuda is for sale and although it has the potential it realisticaly wont happen befour i sell it
the superbird is about 50 laps away from that so potentialy another year,
personaly id say andy in his new car or the cuda if someone brought it turnkey and took it to tierp early next year
these are all probablys based on nothing in peticular exept recent history,
i dont guarentee any of this and if it changes im not liable................

They had the data from their four passes at the Main Event though. I would not have expected the numbers at Tierp without the track time at the main event. I think performance in Europe is as much to do with the weather and air density as it is the track.at tierp last weekend only lindbergs beat their pb out of the front runners and of cource martin lundqvist

id dissagree.... horsepower is weather related wether the car goes down the track is entirley track and set up related, horse power wont make a car go down a track thats not up to it,
look at finland... a one lane race track
theres no usefull data to be had from aborted runs beyond the point it goes wrong,
id be surprised if the bump is much faster than last year maybe a bit but maybe not remember a lot of big guns wont be there who go to tierp and were at the euros last year,
lindahls, Nicholas anderson, maybe roger J will go if hockenheim is kind to him but not for sure, Lindberg and Gullqvist have proved they can struggle on a bad track as much as the rest of them
MG had to fight like hell to get a 6.08 at the main event

thats so simple. we are not as good as them we dont have the availibility of parts they have we dont have the laps we dont have the knowledge, they have need i go on...we are just not as good its not the drivers either, I be a 92 and a 94 would be in the top half of any nhra field, and those are the two teams that have turnkey us cars with current racers suplying their engines and tune ups, although MG tunes his own stuff he still has good parts and he is arguably the most knowledgable pro mod racer in europe and in my opinion the best driver in the class currently
as for track temp changing the track properties that happens everywhere not just in europe
i dont remember it being either very hot or very cold at the main event just very windy but does wind make a 6.0 car into a 6.5 car or a 6.8 car or a 5.96 car into a 6.3o car and im talking here mats erricson adam flamholc mark Mehuisen
nope whatever way you say it they could not get down that track and i know some of the top end of the field that had made 1 good run were prety scared to face slower cars that would not normaly be in the feild but do the same thing lap after lap
