What is a Westfield Eleven likely to be worth ?
Discussion
Missus issues - so I have this Eleven I bought from the factory back in 85 but under 2000 miles on the clock -GENUINE ! but that's what marriage does for you. Been SORNED for a long, long time. Anyway maybe time to sell but any help with whats it worth assuming it's on the road with a new MOT. Back when I had hair and was single, stinted not at all on this so it has a 150 BHP 1760cc Lotus Twin cam mated to a 5 speed ZF rocket box, sintered bronze AP paddle clutch with Escort limited slip 3.54 diff on a 4 link suspension - and the brakes do stop it too being custom built AP units.
Anyway all it really needs is a paint job as mechanically it's pretty much fine. Problem is these seem to not come up for sale very often so how do you judge the price ?. Anybody have a clue ?.
I think that most of these went for export and of the few that were sold in this country I think most were fitted with the A series not the twin cam. Has anybody got a clue how many were sold in this country modded for the twin cam ?. Westfield now they have been bought out don't have a clue (or just not interested). Anybody happen to have an email for Chris Brown as he always used to help back then.
Anybody sold one of these recently or can help ?.

There was a freshly built (from the second production run) and mint condition Lotus Twin Cam powered Westfield Eleven on the market last year. IIRC, it was originally advertised at about £18K by its builder, then it was (presumably) sold on to UK Sportscars (a classic Lotus specialist with a variable reputation), who offered it at (IIRC) £23K. A really good, recently built, A-series Westfield Eleven can fetch £16-£17K, and even an average car will fetch over £10K, so judge where the value of your car sits between those figures.
I personally know of at least 2 other Twin Cam powered Elevens, but they're certainly not common.
If you'd be interested in a sawp/PX against a Westfield FW400 (the motor show/magazine road test car), give me a shout, but regrettably I'm not in a position to offer you an outright purchase at the moment as I need to thin the collection down, not increase it!
There's a reasonably active (but US dominated - in fact dominated/monopolise by one US individual, these days) Yahoo! Groups discussion forum for the Westfield Eleven, where I'm sure you'd get other advice/opinion.
