it's a very nice looking Sherpley - the name gives you a clue to the under pinings

Most peculiar, looks like a Bentley with the engine missing! Well the chassis looks real enough, certainly the Hartford dampers look real enough, unlike those "dress" ones on Suffolk SS100s but what's going on with the engine and gearbox? Like you I'm puzzled by that one.

Indeed you posted as I was writing mine. p.s. are the dampers functional?

I should add I only know because we have one in the club, it has a Vaden Plas 4l engine, we also have various sizes Bentleys turn up for our Sporting Bears Dream Rides

great to be in a club with both ends of vehicles and owners where they meet to have fun and appreciate each other rather than nit-pick the cars

see photos - (Lagonda here too) - http://www.sportingbears.org.uk/DreamRides/NEC/Dre...

and can't find the one of the 8 litre loading up but here it is on the road -

(RichB, you might just have seen these but they're for others)

Is that a Ford V6 in the front?

2293cc suggests the Ford 2.3 V6 (the Essex 3 litre's little brother).

I couldn't remember if looked like an Essex or a Cologne, but I had a feeling it was one of them.

Thought the 2.3 was the small Cologne and the rare 2.5, the small Essex?

You're right. I assumed that the Cortina 2.3 had the small Essex, but it's actually an early Cologne v6.
