I hope that somebody can help me as it's doing my head in - my current insurance policy expires on June 19th, at which point I will (touch wood) have 1yr NCB. I've received my renewal today acknowledging my NCB. To insure my new car at a reasonable cost I need to change insurance companies and have my NCB. Could I use this renewal form as proof of NCB in order to insure my new car before the 19th? My new insurance company said it's ok but I don't want to be a victim of bad advice (ie if either car gets nicked/pranged). Sorry for the long winded nature of this post, couldn't think of a quicker way to describe things.

Thanks in advance folks...

yes-renewal notice is commonly used as evidence by all insurance companies.

Be wary though if you were on a 10-month "bonus accelerator" policy, some companies may not accept this as a full year and make it 0.

Also you don't usually need to provide proof of NC entitlement for them to insure you. Usually you just have to send it to them ASAP.
