NO MORE STUPID SUPERHERO MOVIES!

Is Hollywood now that bereft of original talent and ideas that it has to rehash films that were made only a few years ago!

Jeez.....

Yes, and has been for quite some time now. Have to agree though - the bean counters are completely in charge now. Such creative bankruptcy is unforgivable frown

That and remakes. Batman is both so inevitable.

And also as it completes a specified trilogy.

Which have, in fairness, been fine and lucrative examples of the superhero genre.

Agreed, tbb, though it'll only encourage them to make more.

True, and a lovely tone of inevitability.

Aha just realised what they were on about. I didn't notice as my browser just resized it for me.

More well written, directed and acted films like Batman - good.
More films about superheroes made by people with dollars in their eyes because they're easy to market - Less (fewer) good.

So, more Dark Knight, Iron Man... Less (Much less, plz!) Green Hornet/Lantern!

soapboxCatwoman on the big screen marks the most egregious misuse of fine actresses in cinema history. Who knew you could go so wrong with Halle Berry or yum Michelle Pfeiffer.
Next inline: Anne Hathaway. And best of luck to her!

Looks thouroughly forgettable.
I think that my problem with 'superhero' movies is the fact that they're 'superheros' - they have superhero powers that mortals don't have, and you know they'll win in the end due to being 'super human'. It is harder to relate to them in the same way as something like John McLane in Die Hard or harrison Ford in the original Raiders film.
The only (mild) exception to this is the two recent Batman movies. (And the second (Christopher Reeve)Superman film is enjoyable, as he is fighting people who have the same 'powers' and the film doesn't take itself too seriously..)

Hollywood, your creative output is as empty as your country's treasury - if this is the kind of crap you think we all want to see (again!), then perhaps this explains the collapse of everything else right now.
