Replacement quartz movement?
Discussion
I was helping my dad clear some of his stuff out and found this in one of his drawers. He owned a BMW garage from mid-1970s until 1992, and had this left in a display cabinet, so instead of letting it go to waste he kept it in said drawer. I think it's a nice, simple and attractive watch, plus I have never seen anyone else wearing one so think it would be quite nice to wear. However, during storage the watch still had its original battery in situ, and unfortunately this leaked some of its acid over the mechanism, which has then (i've been told by my local watch specialist) melted part of the electronic circuit, meaning it's rubber ducked. However, I was wondering whether anyone would happen to know anything about these watches, perhaps who made them or whether I would be able to get a replacement mechanism for it? IU believe they were produced around the mid-late 80s for BMW, but i've no idea who by. The handbook does not have any mention of manufacturer, so i'm not really sure what to do about it.
