So the solution to the debt crisis could involve a plane, some box cutters...

I want to know how they're going to get the truck off of the top of the $114.5 Trillion pile.

The visual examples use $100 bills, which equates roughly to a £60 note.

Most UK people will be more familiar with £5 notes than something thats 10 times the value for similar size.

So, imagine if all those visual examples were re-done with £5 notes ... each image would be roughly TEN TIMES BIGGER ...

---

.. which made me think. If I were to cover every square foot of my modest house with £5 notes, I would need to put down 6 layers deep of fivers before the total amount of money got near the apparent value of the house. If the world tips into depression and hyperinflation sets in, it will be cheaper to build houses with stacks of fivers than bricks. Hmmm.

Thats a really good way of putting it into perspective, is there a UK one floating about somewhere?

Impressive 300,000 for each person. Very interested to see what the UK's debt is per person and the likes of Greece. This would put into perspective how bad things are.

It's about $22,000 for each person in the UK.

Is the US$ wasn't the worlds currency of choice, they'd be fked.
