Three threads on the same topic

Do we really need three threads about Rowan Atkinson's crash, two of them in GG? There's too much crap on this site already without duplicating topics.

It always seems daft to me the way PH encourages posters to start a thread about a news article when there's one already running. Why not just connect through to the existing one? Also ISTR that in the past existing topics have been deleted when the one started from the news piece has appeared in the forums, which just wipes out people's posts therefore wasting everyone's time.
