I'm aiming to drive from London to Copenhagen in a month or two. Can you just turn up at the Rodby-Puttgarden ferry north east of Hamburg or do you have to book. Does anyone know?
Cheers.
Boxster Chris.

You can just roll up to the pay booth and book a trip on the next ferry.

Be advised, there are two different fare prices. If you go for the cheaper fare, you risk not getting on the first available ferry if lots of people travelling.

Danish holidays are wearing out, so if you are going on a saturday or sunday, I would recommend you book a space in advance.

As the previous post said, you can simply roll up.

Send me a message if you need any more information about Denmark/Copenhagen. I live in Copenhagen and would be happy to help you steer clear of the common tourist traps (-:

Brilliant. Thanks for the heads-up about the two types of ticket and offer of advice.
Great stuff.
Boxster Chris.
