What are the names of those vans you can put a car on?

[Piepiepie]

Need to hire one in the North West of england, and have no idea what they are called. I tried a low loader van, but it just seems to give me box vans and flatbed gives me the type the scrap man uses.

What the hell are they actually called, and can you stick a car on the back of one and drive it on a standard car licence?
