My 1988 morgan generally has pretty nice paintwork, but it currently spoiled by what I guess are watermarks on the bonnet, they developed a while ago, I think after the car was parked in the sun and then had a heavy rain shower, as it was hot the beaded water dried very quickly leaving the stains. I routinely use autoglym products - shampoo, super resin and extra gloss protection.

What is the best way to deal with the watermarks.

Cheers for tips or links or product recommendations

Water spots are either surface residue or etching - you can get rid of the first type using a decent pre-wax cleanser/polish (Super Resin Polish, for example) or a reasonable quick detailer with cleansing abilities. The etched type need to be machine polished or sanded out. See this detailed guide from Mike Phillips:

Water spotting is usually caused by minerals / calcium deposits in water. Permanon omega would be a good choice to break down the minerals spotting.
