Something i've noticed over the last few days is that the battery light in the dash stays on for a long time.
By a long time, I mean a few minutes. It seems to go out once i've hit a certain speed. Is this a sign that the alternator is on its way out or nothing to worry about?

I posted a question a few months ago about the dashboard lights flicker in time with the engine and I got a reply saying this could be a sign the alternator is going but its been fine up till now.

I've got the car booked in for Austec next week but i've got to get there first. Hopefully it will last out.

It could be the 100 amp fuselink beneath the car on it's way out. When mine started to corrode, I had the same thing with the dash light- but mainly glowing under acceleration.

Easy to check, easy and cheap to replace.
Kenny.
