'A well known plate trader' is pleased to announce the public auction of vehicle registration G 1.

This exceptional and historic mark was one of the very first vehicle registrations ever assigned in the UK.

G 1 was originally issued by Glasgow Borough Council in 1903.

The successful bidder will acquire the right to display one of the most prestigious marks ever made available to the public: a piece of British motoring history.

Potential bidders may consider it significant that a similar mark, F 1, currently holds the record for the highest price ever paid for a UK cherished registration number.

G 1 will be offered for sale in the 'A well known plate trader' online auction website within the next few weeks, unless pre-sold before bidding commences.

So, answers on a postcard, how much do you think it will sell for?

I'll hazard a guess at £350k.

  • edited the name of the plate trader in order to not break the name and shame rules.
A quick google will reveal who.

I'd love too, however, I'm not in a financial position to obtain it I'm afraid.

One day perhaps.
