I had an awesome weekend at the Hot Rod Hayride last weekend. The show was at Bisley as usual but instead of the dirt track there was drag racing at Dunsfold on the runway. I was covering it for a few magazines but got a whole bunch of shots so here are some of the left overs...

Just a bag of diamonds hard to know which ones are exemplary when the base-line for the others is merely excellent

Portrats and detail shots are superb, processing is great (like the light-leaks )

Oh Nick, I'm so disappointed. Your photo's are normally so full of character and passion with a real feel for what it would have been like to be there, yet these just feel very flat and overly commercial. It looks to me like you've really lost your passion and vision in this set, is it because you've sold out to the world of commercial photography rather than just shooting these events for fun?

I teamed up with Neal Reed in the Hot Rod Photographers Alliance for this one, we've pooled our best shots to supply Old Skool Rodz, Classic American, Mensfile, Street Gasser and maybe Custom Car. I shot 2000 photos over the weekend, then picked out 250 that I liked, the mags have 20-30 unique images each plus Neal is providing the same, these are some of the rest of the 250 It's cool working with someone else there's a bit of competition between us to get the best shots and we both get lots of exposure (no pun intended).
