I have seen it.

I thought Brad Pitt was very good in it. He always seems to be at his best in small release, arty type films. It is like those are the films he WANTS to be in while the big budget action films are there just to pay the bills and to me it shows.

The rest of the film...meh...self serving and at times completely random in a way that is not good. At other times the images are interesting and beautifully shot.

Images of the big bang and first life in the primordial soup set with a prayer in the background?
A dinosaur that suddenly finds compassion?
I know this slightly misses the point but I was massively distracted trying to place an age on the film. As far as I could figure out the Dad served in the navy during WW2 and the boys were born in the 50's. One of the brothers dies aged 19 and the family find out by Western Union so I am guessing he died in Vietnam...but when you see the oldest brother in modern times he is not nearly old enough to have been born in the late 40's...maybe you are not supposed to think about stuff like this and it is just supposed to be 'times past' but the cars and fashions are to distinctive to not leave me wanting to figure it out, it is a fault of mine!
