Signaled left when I saw him, stopped, got off bike and climbed up the bank. He stopped and apologised for making me get off my bike.

Carried on with my ride, he went to his pick up point (it was a grab lorry).

It takes two to tango and two to have man love (even though I'm sure he didn't buy the same bike as me as mine is 30 years old!)

Killing two birds with one stone - marvelous

Strange thread! You meet a lorry on a country lane, get off your bike and get out of the way of the lorry, lorry driver says “thank you”. You must have a very strange life if you consider this sequence of events and your behaviour as something out of the very ordinary.

One presumes the lorry couldn't physically move any further over and so your course of action was entirely correct. I've done similar with tractors and have also had a friendly wave.

The "lorry" in the situation I encountered could very easily get past me by putting only about six inches of his nearside wheels into mud half an inch deep. But he chose not to, preferring instead to shout abuse at me and then threatening to run me down if he ever saw me again.

But then if you had the intelligence to read, you'd know that, and you wouldn't have posted a bks thread designed to make yourself look better, at the expense of someone out for an enjoyable bike ride who ended up being bullied, threatened and assaulted, all for using the public highway. Someone who, when he posted an explanation of what happened, had to deal with a bunch of experts who ignored the disgusting antics of the driver involved, and focussed on someone who did absolutely nothing wrong.

I've just about had it with this website. The degree of racism, sexism, hatred and general "must get one over him because I'm brilliant on the internet" is beyond a joke. I'm embarrassed to be associated with such stupidity.

fk it. To the nice people here, carry on being nice. To the rest of you, enjoy sitting in your own st.

Chill out Dude!

I posted plenty on that thread and generally agreed that the other guy was a prat. There were other side discussions aplenty, but in the main nothing serious and no outright rudeness or offensive posts? This is just a bit of lighthearted banter.

You need to take life, and PH in particular, far less seriously. Your swearing, insults and high drama doesn't become you and displays the churlishness and petulance of a child. I will give you benefit of the doubt and say probably untypical of real life?

Oh, and what Johnnytheboy says!

Interesting to read - and very interesting to see how calmly some poeple deal with stuff that doesn't perfectly fit in with their own point of view! smile

I met two combine harvesters coming the other way down a narrow
country lane this evening. I lamely parked-up on the grass verge to
let them continue on their journey back to the farm.

Should I MTFU next time?
