I want to adjust my nitrons, which means removing a wheel at a time. Is it ok to jack and remove one wheel at a time using the body mount plates as per GV'S manual, or do i have to lift one end of the car at the same time? ie 2 wheels at a time.?

Cheers Sandy.

its quite ok to jack one corner at a time.
make sure though, as per grahams manual, that you are behind the battery on the passenger side.

Place a rubber bung (such as an exhaust hanger rubber) over the nut you jack up on. It will help stop damage to the pad on your jack.

I have 2 ice hockey pucks with holes drilled in - does the same job, and gives a slight amount of cushioning.

My jack has a metal cup - so didn't want that anywhere near the powercoating!

hhmmmm! This has got me thinking. I just ordered two rear tyres via Blackcircles. I'm taking the car to a local tyre company to get them fitted. Are there any special instructions I need to give them regards jacking up the car? I've not used them before but I presume the standard quick in/quick out affair so I will have to watch them do it.

As long as they use the mounts as per previous replys to the topic it will be ok.

Thanks Sandy,

I was a bit concerned about damage to the bodywork when it was mentioned that a metal jack plate might damage the powdercoating on the car.
