Falken 452s or Vredstein Ultrac Sessanta?
Discussion
Evening all, just about to order some new rear tyres for the BMW, I'm torn between these two.
Falken:

Vredstein:

I'm thinking Vredstein, how cool does that tyre tread look??

Anyone running these tyres or had both?
Thanks
dan

Hmm... well timed thread; I have 452s at the moment but thinking on changing to the Sessanta's when the tyres need changing in a month or so - heard good things about them (check the Tyre Wiki). 452s are good, but noisy on my car. Sessanta's are supposed to be just as good performance wise but quieter.

Can't comment on 452's (although I'm about to purchase a set of 912's for my OH's car) but I've had sessantas on my last 2 cars and they're fantastic.
Another bonus is the Sessanta has a chunky bead to protect your rim from kerbing, the falken tyre isn't half as chunky. (compared side to side on same type of car, same wheels/size)

Can you comment on the wear of the Sessantas?Another bonus is the Sessanta has a chunky bead to protect your rim from kerbing, the falken tyre isn't half as chunky. (compared side to side on same type of car, same wheels/size)
Both offer excellent performance for the money with the Sessanta being the better for ultimate grip. I currently have 452's on the rear and Sessanta's on the front (FWD) , the 452 life span is only average however this is more than compensated for by their price. There is a problem with the 452's however, they are have poor performance in snow, it is so bad I will not buy them again.
I've got Vreds on my 968 and have found them to be excellent - am just about to put another pair on the rear.
Had Goodyear F1's before which I liked but prefer these. Seem very good in both dry & wet. Hard to tell about noise levels as the car is a CS so not exactly the quietest car anyway but I don't recall them being worse than the F1's.
