Anyone got the paint code for Moonraker Black

Coming out of the multistory carpark this evening I had the incident I've always dreaded when parking there:



My own stupid fault, but why the are these carparks so badly thought out - cramped spaces with hard, rough concrete pillars just waiting for that tiny miscalculation to remove several hundred pounds worth of shiny paintwork from your pride & joy? Fer christ's sake wrap the damn things in rubber sheeting!

...and breathe...

So, anyone got the code for Moonraker Black paint? I reckon it won't cost that much to put right but I'm absolutely gutted

My Cerbie has a plate under the bonnet with a "Body code" which was my paint code...and presume that the Tuscan has the same...if not give the factory a call, have your V5 log book handy, and they should be able to give you the paint code from their records.
On top of that, there appears to be two different paint codes..one of which is an ICI code, and therefore you should be able to get the paint mixed at any decent bodyshop. The other is a factory 'mix', which means you will have to buy direct from them for a better colour match, and probably at a premium price!!...you will be surprised to know that there are many different 'shades' of black!, so its important to get the right stuff first time..good luck!

Really sorry. You'll find the paint code on a plate in the boot. Bend in the boot, look beneath the bit that the lid catches on and you should find it there.

Thanks for the tea & sympathy everyone. Taking it up to a local bodyshop this morning to get it looked at. They were recommended very highly by a friend and are used by Ferrari, Masserati and Lexus so they should be good. They also do a lot of *ahem* body kit work for the younger driver, so they also have their own GRP workshop. :fingerscrossedsmiley:

Sadly in this life they are designed around the average car, which when the car park was know doubt built was a Ford Escort, which makes jockeying a big TVR round them rather difficult!

Hope you get it sorted back to 'new' quickly and cheaply, it looks worse than it probably is, but I bet your glad its not a reflex paint job.

Unfortunately in this life sh1t happens, so I just dont know how peolple with such colours can sleep at night!

£300 sounds pretty good to me, you have a job to get anything done in a bodyshop for much less!

Bit of polish will make it look alot better till it goes in I expect

I'll find any excuess to avoid Multi Stories in the TVR, well I used to , at the moment I'd just love to be able to drive it anywhere
One of racegirls mates did a similar thing in a Notts Multi Story, see picked her new Golf up with 10 miles on the clock, after saying good bye to her Mini, by 11 miles on the clock it had been christened by Notts concrete

Got the car back this morning after being resprayed - excellent job done Apparently had a bugger of a job getting the paint mixed - had to get it from some specialist place up in Sheffield. Very pleased with the end result. Anyone interested in using them, check out their website - www.chip-master.co.uk



Incidently, while we were there we saw some of the other stuff they were working on, including fitting Lambo Murky Lager-style scissor doors to a Supra!
