£15k to spend on a fast Benz, what to buy??

Looking to buy a fast Mercedes have around £15k to spend in coming months, what the hell should I buy?

Been thinking about the following:-

R129 SL500 (already have one and love it to bits, but not sure I want the same again)

E55 K, sweet car heard bad things about air suspension, each leg costing £1800 a shock to replace.

SLK 55 AMG, not sure.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Later cars then I would go for any with the 55 kompressor engine. Well built and seriously fast.

No brainer. W215 CL600 Bi Turbo or W220 S600 Bi Turbo. The CL is lovely, too.

Is an SL55 now within that price range? If I didn't need 4 seats, I'd have one of those...

sl55's are still north of 20k,

I think overall W211 e55k will be the best - practical, understated, reasonably light so v fast, cl's (eg cl55k or cl600 will cost more to maintain in general but look great though)

get one for 12k and use rest of money for warranty, tyres, petrol!!

An E55 AMG without a doubt. They are the most understated car, that would show up a majority of sports car owners. Even cruising at 100MPH, as soon as you plant your foot its pulling like a steam train. Its certainly a wolf in sheep's clothing and a bargain for around 15k in great condition and low millage

Thats a easy one, it would have to be a cl55 k of course

a W209 shape clk 55 amg would be one to consider as it's a very nice looking car that has aged well, I have seen a few for under 15k, some for siginificantly less.

Four seats, very decent boot size and quite a practical car that is not so bad on fuel either.

The cls 55 amg is the one to go for though- not quite as low as 15k but not far off at all, and you could probably even pick one up for around 15 as there are some cars now at 17-18 so who knows.

5.4 litre supercharged V8, 516 lbs of torque, verging on supercar performance, 0-60 around 4.6-4.7 which for such a heavy car is amazing. It feels faster than the cls 63 at lower speeds, brutal acceleration...

To me it's other selling point is that it looks a lot better than any e55 you could pick up in that price range, very sexy shape, beaitiful lines- for me one of the best looking cars mercedes have made in it's original form.

For me it would be a C209 CLK 55 AMG or W203 C55 AMG, i had a passenger ride in a C55 AMG at Mercedes Benz World a few years ago and loved it, the torque from the engine was immense and the sound was awesome. Loved every minute of it.

I would say the CLK55 W209 - I looked at one when I bought my CL500 and it was awesome, a nice, subtle M3 eater! The only reason I didn't buy it was because I fell in love with the CL i bought instead! Im definitely going AMG next!

Another one to consider would be an S55K W220 - four door limo luxury with blistering speed!
