Help needed: Fault Code 247 (FRAM failed)???
Discussion
The display shows
FRAM failed 247 ????
What does that mean? I could not find that code in the list below (taken from here), which includes the code 147 "Stepper FRAM failed" but the display is showing "247" ??

FRAM - Ferroelectric Random Access Memory. When I had a 'FRAM fault' all it needed was a new coin cell battery in the dash ECU. Be very careful when changing it as you can damage it which costs ££££ to repair. You might be unlucky and its not the battery and it needs to go away for a re-program at somewhere like TVR Power et al as the software is corrupt.
Stepper would seem to suggest it has something to do with the Speedo/tacho needles as they have a stepper motor on them?

What does the FRAM control, just the dash or any engine management like the ECU?
When mine gave the error, it was the clock and POD settings that would revert back to standard. I don't think there are any engine ECU issues just the clock pack and digital display data What does the FRAM control, just the dash or any engine management like the ECU?

ked." It reads 67 o'clock. Doesn't seem to affect anything else.I wonder if error 248 and 249 are clock faults too?

hm, the clock is fine!
After switching on the warning code appears "warning code: 247" and "F-RAM failed". After clearing with the two buttons behind the wheel the normal menue is displayed. The clocks fine, but the mileage is back to zero; both, trip and total mileage!
All connections of the Dash ECU are fine, the heater ventilator can be switched on and off without any issue.
