Helicoiling.............

One of the six cap-head bolts in my plenum chamber ('97 500) has destroyed the thread in the trumpet base. Have watched video on You Tube and helicoiling looks fairly straightforward.

Could someone please tell me the thread size and type so that I may order the correct kit?

Also, Helicoils are dearer than Recoils, ...but are they as good?

Help will be appreciated.

The plenum chamber cap heads are M8, I have only ever used helicoil, no experience of recoils, but presume they both do the same job.
