unimpressed wife
Discussion
well since becoming the owner of an S1 a few weeks ago i have not stopped grinning insanely since although the spending has started ( service including tappets and a broken exhaust replaced with a full sport stainless steel one)but i have now joined this forum and find it a wealth of knowledge and i feel a lot safer knowing there are peopleto help me keep my S1 on the road as economical as possible. but i have noticed that i keep getting looks of disapproval from the other half when i log on or talk about my tvr. is this normal for women?
Maybe I'm just lucky...
The night I got chatting to my now wife in a pub, one of my "mates" (!) came over and asked her if I'd mentioned my medallion and sports car yet. Fortunately she ignored the medallion comment and asked what sort of car it was. I said a TVR. I was amazed when she asked which model. I was even more surprised when I said Chimaera and her reply (which I'll NEVER forget) was "Is that the one with a V8 engine". From then on it was done deal

I think its pretty normal.
Getting dirty in the garage is err 'my hobby, but why does it take so long?'
Researching / forum stuff 'time wasting / not talking, should have married that thing'
Day out in the S2 inc pub lunch, sunny, roof down, no kids as no room - Nothing said. This can only mean it must be either;
a)fully approved or
b)she has yet to find suitable vocabulary to describe the feeling as we do another 'noise test' in an underpass...with me looking like some sort of cheshire cat

My missus would rather chew her own leg off than get into my Tiv... GOOD !! I'm obsessed apparently and I waste money on it. maybe I should get a proper hobby like Golf, or football
they would be much cheaper and she would see more of me... or perhaps a more meaningful hobby like dressing up in medieval costumes and run around fields pretending to kill other nutters similarly dressed with my plastic replica sword
an empty passenger seat means I have saved a fortune in trying to shave off stones elsewhere for improved performance and that annoying whine at any speed above 40 mph that I could previously hear from the area just in front of the passenger side headrest stopped years ago

What a girl you found yourself there, she's a keeper! The night I got chatting to my now wife in a pub, one of my "mates" (!) came over and asked her if I'd mentioned my medallion and sports car yet. Unfortunately, my girlfriend hates the TVR. She loved the Alfas I had before that; my favourite comment was when driving the GTV spiritedly and she said "I really do get this Alfa thing now..."
The Cerbera is rather a different story. She calls it "that f
king s
thead of a car", and claims its the most horrible vehicle she's ever had the misfortune of passengering in. So far, she's travelled in it with me on 3 occasions, on one of which we broke down, which really wound her up...
Hi All
Wow, so many varied reply's, mine can't waite to have a ride in it when its finished and on the road, we are planing to do a tour of Germany next year, One thing that gets her wound up is how much its costing and when I asked her if she wanted to come down and see where her money was going she told me to --------- , well I told her then and there its not a nice thing to say to somebody who is only doing it for her.
Seriously she can't waite for it to be finished as she gets a holiday at the end.
