HELP! It's 11:45 on a Friday night and the boot release solenoid's stopped working on my S3. I press the boot release button (and can hear the relay in the passenger footwell click) but the solenoid doesn't make it's normal "clunk" noise.

the problem is I'm 100 miles from home and all my clothes are in the boot. Can one of you kind gentlemen (or ladies) please email me and let me know how to release it manually... I haven't got my Bible...

I'm currently checking all the fuses......

HELP.

------------------------

I've posted this last night as a reply to another post & Yellabelly kindly emailed me with instructios from the Bible, but none of the wires I pull seems to do anything! Please help, as all my stuff's in there and I'm s'posed to be going sailing today....

Have you tried bumping the car or do a right turn a bit quick etc

I suspect your stuff in the boot is jamming the mechanism so a drive might help bumpy roads even better .Every so often press the boot button (obviously stationary)

All sorted! Found the elusive piece of wire and, hey presto, one open boot.

The problem turned out to be the connector to the solenoid.

Thanks guys.. Emergency Over!

Oh, and thanks to Fernhurst TVR for encouraging me on the phone!
