E55 AMG Alloy?
Discussion
Hi, I need to obtain a genuine AMG alloy for a 2003 E55 AMG as it has cracked. I have heard that AMG wheels are renowned cracking? Has anyone else had this problem, can anyone also recommend as to where I may be able to get one or if anyone has one for sale? Wheel shown below;

Try here. You can get a single alloy

There are different finishes so double check part no. Etc

I had a welder look at it and he said he will be able to repair it. But im unsure as to how long a repair would last as it may take some of the strength?
I had one of the rear Monoblocs on my first C43 welded up (by Diamond Styling). Both rears were also buckled IIRC.As far as I am aware there are no issues with loss of strength.

I'm quite annoyed at the moment, I've had the front 2 wheels repaired only to find the rears have slight buckles in too, no idea how I could have damaged 4 alloys, I always avoid pot holes as best I can and haven't hit anything in the car
.
It has become apparent now after speaking with my dad and uncle who both have CLK55 AMG's and an Mercedes specialist that it is common for AMG wheels to crack and buckle
.

.UK roads ugh!, whilst I am generally unaware of a stated or known weakness with AMG wheels above any other alloy wheel, I too have suffered with the replacing of 1 no damaged tyre, 1 no. front and 1 no. rear wheel, the rear unbelievably buckled. Claimed on my insurance (1st protected claim), its all very painfull. I have had my 2 wheels repaired by Diamond Styling, and will be my spares from now on.

I paid out £181 to have the front 2 fixed and will have to pay the same again on monday to have the rears done, I think in all likleyhood it was caused by pot holes as there are still some around,never knew AMG wheels were known for being easily damaged though, for the amount it has cost to fix them I should have paid a bit more and got some 19s from E Bay.
Unfortunatly as your probaly aware, should you have brought the 19",s, you would find that they are more phrone to this type of damage than the 18,s, , my own damaged wheels were 19,s, I wish I had fitted my spare original 18,s on last winter, but quite like the look of the 19,s so left them on, look where it got me! teach me in the future.Gassing Station | Mercedes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
