Just seen Trevor and Maurice Reeves on telly talking about their furniture store that was torched last night. Trevor used to be British rallycross champion and Maurice used to hoon around Goodwood when i did trackdays with a very very quick Golf turbo - hope they will get back to business ASAP.

I saw his interview on TV last night, feel gutted for the chap. Interestingly, he mentioned something I had said to the wife earlier.
My thinking goes like this (and Trevor's wasn't far off). You see someone torching a place, or legging it out of shops with armfuls of goods - shoot them. No questions, no excuses, they shouldn't be there, they shouldn't be doing it and they know it. Shoot them.

Does that really not make sense?

One of them had nick a red shell suit ffs!

Why on earth don't they use tear gas or water cannon with dye in it? - or shoot them of course - I'm all for that.

I'd go back to the Royal Marines today if it meant I could get a job cracking the heads of these scum bags. It would be a quick turnaround too!

Scared of the repercussions. I was watching the 24 hour channel for hours last night and they just seem to stand their ground and watch what's going on. They charge forwards every now and then to regain ground, but that's about it.

This is the problem with our bloody nanny state. Little Chav gets a bruise because a copper prodded him while he was looting a store, he gets £1m payout and a holiday in Mauritius while the copper gets hung. It's all gone so horribly wrong.

This I would like to see, they've ignored the majority of people's human rights, so why should we give two sts about theirs? Give 'em all that's coming to them, give 'em hell.

Maybe we should go back to the old ages and dish out like for like punishments. Strip them naked in the streets, and then burn their house and all their possessions and business.

Royal Marines? But you'd want to start your campaign with a good old fashioned beach assult using your landing craft. By the time you romp up from Brighton, it'll all be over. wink
Any excuse to get a seaside ice cream whilst dressed as a soldier, (in brighton too) whilst actually being miles away from the trouble.

Be interesting to start an official petition to see how many people would approve of heavy handed policing and riot control, like in Ireland. Riot vans, water cannons, curfews, tazers etc. I bet more people would approve of it than disapprove.

From all the posts on Facebook and Twitter I'd imagine most normal people would agree.

Spot on Eddie, our current forces are slightly over stretched,so i would come out of retirement to help out. Not sure if Northern Ireland was before your day, but this would bring back memories for some thumbup

Never been in the forces, but I'd happily suit up and use the bds as target practice. They have no respect for my home and country so what bloody right do they have to get away from this without serious and violent reprisals. I'd pull the trigger.

Oh st! I was good friends with Maurice back in the R32 Skyline GT-R days (even invited him and his wife to my wedding) and when I saw a Trevor Reeves was being interviewed for the fire in Croydon I did wonder if that was his son.
So gutted for them.

Will try and call Maurice today.
