My Bangernomics Volvo 940
Discussion
Picked this up not so long ago for the rather short drive to work (which includes speedbumps and generally crappy roads):

It was up for £1,200, got the price down to £980. This included 11.5 months MOT, three quarters of a tank of petrol and 8 months tax (Tax has been cashed in, as it will be taxed disabled, so I got £140 odd back, meaning the car has cost me £840 overall)
Its a 2.3 (B230FK) low pressure turbo, thats done 146,000 miles, Service history wasn't complete, but its obvious its been looked after. Theres no dents, rust or marks to speak of, and the interior is like new (and yes, the steering wheel cover has now been removed!)
Costs so far:
Ignition leads = £8
Spark Plugs = £5
Timing Belt Kit= £42
Oil Filter = £7.50
Air Filter = £10
All that needs doing now, is to get the aircon regassed at some point, and thats it.
Ive also replaced the crappy standard sterio with one of the Lidl Silvercrest units that has bluetooth, USB port etc etc with it.
Its immaculate, and should provide many more years of bangernomics motoring!
Its not as big a bargain as my previous £100 volvo 740 that after 3 years, ended up backwards through a hedge, but its not bad going!!
Thanks for looking!

Great RWD barge..... when you get bored of it, weld the diff and be a hooligan !
I was thinking maybe I could get an manual boost controller and get a bit more boost, but i dont know much about that. Half of me wants to run it as a banger, but the other half of me wants to keep it in good nick. I have never minded spending a bit of money on my "bangers"Great RWD barge..... when you get bored of it, weld the diff and be a hooligan !
