Folks, Rally Hebrides on the Isle of Lewis takes place on the 19th and 20th of August. Full details on www.lewiscarclub.com

Sounds like a great day on the Saturday - i am competing so looking forward to it. Co-drivers seats are auctioned off............

Might be worth looking into if anyone is in the West Coast that weekend.

Did this pop up to replace the Mull Rally that stopped a few years back? I'm told there was a brilliant atmosphere on the Mull Rally both on the hills and in the pubs...

Would be a good weekend away.

This is a separate event - run for charity with all co-driver rides auctioned off. I've not been across yet and won't be this year but donated an old helmet for the co-driver rides.

Well you learn something new every day - a quick google shows that the Mull Car Club picked up where the 2300 Club left off then when they made the decision not to proceed in 2010.

I presume the opposition and negative attitudes that made the 2300 club call it quits hasn't been apparent since? Perhaps a showdown like that was required to make people reevaluate their attitudes to the rally?

I might now make it across some year afterall. smile

I'm not on the inside, but I think in general the enourmous effort of putting the Tour of Mull on had worn out some of the 2300 Club members. A lot of the individuals are involved in helping Mull CC run the Mull Rally, either officially or behind the scenes. Furhter good news is that, shoudl closed-roads motorsport come to pass, the 2300 Club are in prime position to organise a rally closer to their home in Lancashire.

Anyway, it's the same roads and the same challenge, so get over and see! I'l be competing.

Sorry for taking this thread off-topic, best wishes to Lewis Car Club and all the very generous competitors for putting on Rally Hebrides. Looks a cracking event which I hope to get over to one day!

Good to see the castle grounds getting used for rally. That'll be spectacular. Unfortunately I wont make it across.
