Checking date of first registration?

Hi All

I'm going to look at an 09 car later on today, it would be useful to know if it was a 1st March 09 car (so needs an MOT in 6/7 months) or later in the year - is there any way I can check on line before I go? I have the reg number. Also can I check the taxed status? It's from a dealer so I expect no tax on it at the moment?

I found a very useful and free way to check a car, which includes the info you need. Go to ebay motors and go to sell a car. Put the car model in, then it will give you an option to input the reg. Do that and it will give you registration date and no. of previous owners!!

It will be on the log book, I'm sure there's a way of checking on line but it eludes me at the mo.

This was exactly what I needed - registered on 1st June, so 10 months before next MOT is due.

No news on the tax, though, but that is to be expected.

Go into vehicle Enquiry and it will tell you about the tax too.
