'You Have To Use Volkswagen Screen Wash Ma'am'
Discussion
Just had a worried call from my mum, who's at a Volkswagen dealership.
She's been told by someone at the service desk that she 'Has to use Volkswagen brand screen wash, or everything under the bonnet will clog up'
My mum isn't particularly car savvy (hell, she bought a 59 plate Beetle) and I'm sure the VW stuff is very good, but there's really no need to tell lies.

Actually, if it has fan jets, then normal screenwash will quite often clog them up.
The VW/Audi stuff you can get from GSF for about £2 a bottle, it's bloody good stuff.
This only seems to happen if you mix VW and normal stuff. The VW/Audi stuff you can get from GSF for about £2 a bottle, it's bloody good stuff.
Empty the VW stuff, run a tank of water through, use whatever the feck you want...
Or go and get some VW spec stuff from wherever.

Wife's just text me to say the washers on her 57 plate mini have stopped working, wonder if this is something similar?
Have to say, I would have dismissed it as nonsense too.
Probably just an empty reservoir.Have to say, I would have dismissed it as nonsense too.
Easy repair, either 600 notes for new motors, or unplug the buggers, sorted...........mind you, the dealer said they would have to remove the bumper to unplug the motors, lying git, took me 5 mins when I got home, opened bonnet, reached in, unplugged sortwed.
