The dearly beloved just went into town with the eldest daughter to do some shoppin. This is fair enough apart from us being a bit skint 'cos I keep buying watches.....

Couple of hours later, the daughters car comes haring up and hanging out the window, the wife says:" Which car do you want to take?"

Me of course a bit confused!

"Dobles have a sale on and there's a load of Rolex, Omegas and stuff. Seikos are on half price as well!"

"Oh bother!" says I.

So roof down on the old MX5 and into town for a look. Just a look I promise. There in the window is several Rolexes, Omegas, and sundry other lovely pieces, but one just leapt out and bit me....

A year of birth Tudor "Prince" auto! Man it was lovely, solid 9ct gold, not on an original strap ('natch) but the dial apart from the tiniest bit of wear round the centre hole for the hands is mint and the case and crystal (is it a crystal at that age?) are perfect.

So a 1958 Tudor "Prince" auto in solid gold for a very moderate price... just had to be bought didn't it? Well it was so there!

The post above reads like it was written in Swahili and then translated by Google Translate into English – is it just me who's struggling to understand it? Are the photographs upside down for comedy value too!

Come on it's not that bad - not exactly the queen's english but comprehensible.

Great to get what you want and at a good price. Well done that man.

How clever of you to spot the origin of the language, I'm impressed. Google translate is obviously not up to snuff at the mo'.

The photo's are upside down to signify the appalling state of my financial world and nothing whatsoever to do with me not understanding my daughters phone and the effect that uploading it to photobucket would have. Or, perhaps it's everything to do with my not understanding.....

Sorry if the language of the original post and of this one also, was a tad incomprehensible, my sincere apologies.

It is indeed the wife, cute ain't she!

Today another watch was supposed to be delivered (a Christopher Ward |C3 chrono) but we were out collecting another little parcel....

No watch but another new enthusiast for the club. He's an 8 week old Basset cross and in real life he looks like a slightly spaniel faced Basset. Very cute, called "Chester" and is a proper little "waste of time".
