Anyone see the Typhoon fighter flying fast over and around Edinburgh tonight?

Spotted over the M8 just after Hermiston Gait around 9pm

It was flying really fast, unusually so for a fighter over mainland.

Well that, is a very boring and sensible reason.

Might keep an eye out tomorrow, it was an impressive but, slightly worrying sight.

Try going for a drink in central Edinburgh and forgetting about. You will still crap yourself just like the other 50,000 people that dont know /forget about.

It sounds like a bomb going off as it flys over the narrow streets.

Was in the Sky Bar on Bread Street on Friday night when it came over and watched him switch on his reheat as he passed overhead. Fabulous! If anyone is in touch with Leuchers tell them, screw the regulations, fly lower!

It was actually a Tornado GR4 last night. nerd

So far they've issued NOTAMs for flypasts for Thursday 11th, Saturday 13th (7.30pm show) and Monday 15th - so almost every other night at least.

Many moons ago, we were in Normandy in France with the family. I was kicking about in the back garden with my tennis bats and one of the feckers (no idea what type) flew over-head extremely low at 90*, i mean like so low i could see in the cockpit as he went past type number.

I hit the ground in the feotal position holding my ears. What a roar. Completely shat it but.

Can confirm that it did happen lastnight - low & fast.

They fly right over our house each night in South Queensferry - about 10 seconds past nine which is all the time they need to get to us from town.

The pilot could probably hear your rod from where he was sat too.

My son always cracks a smile when we see you on the road - he'd love a nose. Are you going to Hopetoun on Sunday?
