holy bonnets, batman!

All the electrics and everything are well inboard of the new vents, the only things in danger of getting wet are the brake master cylinder and the cold air intake. There is a pretty mesh grill under the holes but you can't see it in that rather cr@p photograph. I know the purists won't like it, but the car is a long way from standard now and I'm happy to make this sort of change for engineering reasons as long as it doesn't look *too* bad. In this case it is mainly to improve the cooling, but I'm quite pleased with the way it looks too. It puts out an awesome amount of heat when its stationary, you can see plumes of hot air coming out and there is a strong hot air blast from the fans, in a 30 ambiant it holds the engine at about 80 degrees now which will give it a lot more punch off the line. Should be even more effective when it's moving since the vents are in a very low pressure area so it should lower the pressure under the entire bonnet area. Downforce, anyone?

, brave brave man Peter
Knowing the route you're going down it does makes perfect sense. A deffo benefit is that there is less bonnet to polish now too
. slighly OT........
Any chance you could take a piccy of the air box arrangement, have a few idea's at present myself but would rather start with a proven one first, so to speak. Also need to find a suitable air filter to fit in the given space that will breath enough without strangling the engine.

I'm thinking along the same line Harry. Would be good to see what Peter has done.

Peter, I've told you before that you have to be a bit more adventurous with your bonnet....after all, there's nowhere for animals etc to be sucked in unlike on mine!
p.s my mod was from an 'S' bonnet originally therefore it's not a case of a Wedge owner hijacking the 's' forum
