Breitling superocean heritage
Discussion
I have been offered a Breitling superocean heritage from a dealer in Switzerland. It comes with both the rubber and chain bracelets. It has the original box however there are no papers for it. If I were to buy it, I obviously can't verify the watch before it arrives, what would anyone suggest?

get the seller to get in touch with breitling . quote the serial number and re issue papers . iam shaw with high end watches they could do that . he mite have to take the watch to a breitling main dearler to confirm its authentic. there would be cost involved but if he will not do that stay away

Normally when buying a (suspecting) watch the buyer will have to pay for authentication as its him/her how has the doubt.S6 Devil said:

Sorry but, no papers + no authentication + Overseas Ebay = should be ringing alarm bells........
Yes alarm bells ringing. He has agreed to get a valuation prior to purchase which reassures me somewhat.phumy said:

sorry don,t agree you would buy a car with out papers.its up to the seller to prove authenticity. unless the buyer is willing to take a big gamble .in that case the watch is worth a fraction of what the watch is actually worth . if you took it to a shop they wouldn,t buy it with out the papers . plus if you wanted to insure the watch and lost it you would not get paid out with out them .gary hubbard said:

Ok you disagree, how many foreign watch sellers have you dealt with? Watches are not cars, however it's similar with the saying "caveat emptor ", if it was me and i really wanted it i would pay to get it authenticated. You cannot force a seller to do the authentication and if you're still unsure and not willing to pay to have it checked then you walk away.Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
