Hi Guys

I have a 2000 W plate e39 m5 with the 4:3 tv/sat nav cassette head unit.

My question is can i fit a parott CK3100 bluetooth into the car without to much complication
i have a brand new parott in box.
will i need extra wiring adaptors? if so does anyone know what ones?
do i need to connect behing the head unit or in the boot where the changer etc is?

thanks in advance

Gordon

Post this on www.m5board.com and I am sure a number of owners will explain what additional connectors will be required.

Whether you can fit it depends on your competency levels with this sort of thing.

Everything is behind the H/U screen, Autoleads SOT-076 will negate the need to do any wire loom chopping, if your car has the HK audio set up you may also need 10-400.

I wouldn't know the first thing about fitting them, but my 2002 E39 M5 has a Parrot CK3100 fitted and it works fine.

The CK3100 can be fitted easily, and a CK3100 goes lovely in the ash tray so that when you pop the ash tray lid it comes up.

Are you near cardiff at all?

I found everything needed was in the boot.
The radio is behind the changer, I unplugged the main connector, plugged in an ISO breakout, and then a carphone kit into the ISO connector.

That's how my stuff fitted together, it's a Nokia bluetooth kit, but same general thing.
The Nokia kit was ready set up to plug into an ISO connector, so the section at the bottom right is the BMW plug to ISO adaptor, and the car kit fits inbetween.

I actually have more in the car, there is a Dension icelink that would sit between the radio, and the BMW->ISO adaptor but that wouldn't affect what is already in.

i am in port talbot i can fit no problem not worried about the technical aspects just where to connect to behind the HU or at the changer in the boot obviously behind the would be the prefered choice quite fancy the idea of having it in the ashtray though as a non smoker it would make good use of the space.

Thanks
