My car has been written off, but I still have the paperwork like the service history, the manual, one of the keys, receipts and MOT certificates ... is there any earthly use for these things? Unless otherwise advised it was my plan to keep them for 6 months or so then shred?

Sell them on an internet forum to someone with a dodgy car for sale....

...or not.

Have your insurance company not asked for them?

When my Mondeo was written off in Feb I had to send all the service history, spare keys etc to them

how written off is the car?
is it scrap or will it end up being repaired and sold on again? if so the history and spare keys are worth something to the next owner. if its getting crushed it does not matter.

Throw it all away, or keep as a souvenir (if the car had any sentimental value).

The manual will sell for a couple of quid on ebay and may help someone. All other paperwork that may help scammers should be destroyed. Spare key can be kept as a souvenir. Or at least that would be my course of action.

Very. £11,400 repair quote on a car worth less than half of that. I suspect it is bent in lots of ways only visible from underneath.

I won't be selling the service book on eBay!

Thanks for all the responses.
