'blob eye' subaru impreza

Hi, could anyone give me some info on these.
Im looking at purchasing one for my next car but want to know what models are available. WRX, STI etc...

I know there's JDM and UK varients but im unsure about what the differences are in these?

Has anyone owned or driven one? what do you think of them?

Also what are they like compared to the older bug-eye and the newer hawkeye models?

The differences between blob eye and bug are largely cosmetic until about 2005 (I think) when they added DCCD and a wider track. It's easy to tell the new cars apart as they have a lip around the rear wheel arch due to the increased track.

Hawkeyes are when they moved to a 2.5 and longer gearing.

UK's are generally lower spec than the imports (which are all 2.0's) but they can all be tuned to the same levels if your pockets are deep enough.

I've got an old 2 doot so can't comment on how they drive.
