Hi, a client from Russia wants a hotel recommendation in Brighton for him, his wife and a small child. What are the really good ones there please?

The Metropole or the Grand, as far as I recall. Though I'm going back (eeek) 15 years nearly!

As above. The Grand is where all the top politicians stay during party conferences.

I quite liked the Queens opposite the pier but it's been several years since I stayed there.

Ah, sorry, misunderstood the guy. he is looking for value for money, rather than top shelf.

MyHotel or Hotel du Vin are the best hotels in town. The old classics on the Seafront are in need of a renovation imo.

All down to personal preference though.

The Grand is over priced and awful.

May as well stay at the Marriott or whatever it's called.

If that's the case, Premier Inn ticks all the boxes.

MyHotel is rather nice and away from the noise and screaming of the seafront.

I vote for the Thistle:
good car park underneath, friendly staff, swimming pool (handy if he's got kids) and great location (200yards from Pier,30yards from great Spanish restaurant AguaDulce and if the rear exit is straight onto the Lanes).
We use it each year for the Speed Trials.

The Holiday Inn isn't too bad. A friend stays there quite a bit, so have frequented the bar there and it all seems fairly pleasant. Parking is a little restrictive, but as they're traveling from Russia and going to Brighton, I presume they won't be using a car at all.
