P4/5 C: 24 Hours In 20 Minutes
This is how to go racing...
Just 24 hours of racing, and it's all over. We've been following the progress of Jim Glickenhaus and his (don't call it a Ferrari even though it is) P4/5C for a fair while now and, although the Nurburgring 24 hours was a little while ago, we have a final instalment of videos for your delectation...
It was a fine showing for the plucky independent outfit all told, as they finished 40th overall (out of 200 entries) and third in their E1-XP2 class.
The chaps at Kinetic Fin have captured the festival-meets-race atmosphere of the event pretty nicely, too. If you're expecting Eurosport-style coverage of the race, you'll be disappointed, but to grasp the cheers, tears, fears and beers of the Nurburgring 24, it'll do you fine...

Nice watch at 1.33 !
Rolex??
Black face Daytona.Rolex??
Video is odd, non-one watching this is interested in hearing trashy music.
Jim would have been better off with a commentary based video with little or no soundtrack.
A beautiful car, and he's certainly got an eye for commissioning for lovely cars.
The taste in video, well, hhmm.
I can't work out if I like this car or not.
I'm a massive fan of the Ferrari 330 P4 on which this car is based, so therefore I like the overall form of the P4/5 C. However, the P4/5 C has a few too many modern touches on it, such as the rear spoiler, the air vents over the wheel arches, and the non-painted carbon fibre body work (it needs to be painted to hide the carbon fibre body work), that makes me not quite appreciate this car completely.
I realise that it needs these sorts of things to be able to go competitive racing that’s why I’m undecided.

I believe he started producing film before moving into investment, which I assume is how he acquired his wealth.
Anyhow, the film was documented by Kinect Fin, who as per the discussion in episode 2 - had free reign.

Youtube has a few videos of the P4/5c 'au naturale'

Perhaps i'm easily entertained, I spent ~45 minutes watching all five episodes last night & I found the entire lot quite enjoyable - I would happily take this over an episode of Top Gear - you bunch of moaners!

Why?
Great vid, potentially brilliant sounds yet we get this drivel of a 'soundtrack'. Who on earth thinks that when people go to watch a motorsports video they absolutely must overdub some kak guitar based nonsense?
We want the sights AND the sounds...
The problem is it's shot on DSLR stills cameras for a cinematic effect, rather than video cameras, it's not they removed the sound and replaced for music, than there maybe no sound. So you get great pictures with a 35mm sensor, nice lens, but no, or at best poor, audio, hence the onboard video cams have an audio feed, but nothing else. Depending what you shoot with you can get audio on DSLR, or you carry and record seperately to an external recorder, but then both your camera man and particularly your poor editor has the nightmare of trying to sync video to the audio.Great vid, potentially brilliant sounds yet we get this drivel of a 'soundtrack'. And the music? Well you could take a chance and use whatever commercial music you like, although Mr Glickenhaus would probably risk being sued, and indeed he maybe worth suing, or you go down the production music route, which this maybe okay or diy route, either way it's not Top Gear free to raid anything due to the way BBC licence music, or you wait weeks or months, or not at all and approach proper artists for clearances, and risk rejection or requests for huge fees.
The music is a bit distracting, and there's a hole hotch potch of styles, but I liked it, gives me food for thought, but I wanted to hear more and people speak, maybe next year?

te video. Considering how passionate I am about the subject matter it barely held my attention. Poor editing and an awful soundtrack that didn’t suit the footage, tried to be too arty and failed. I thought he made his money directing/producing films?
