Not so much they are planning to bring it back. As they have had an idea and have asked the teams if they like it or not.
I don't see how it would add to the show.
Stop the teams having to conserve tyres in practise, especially when wet. I don't see how it would add to the show.
You end up with a session with half a dozen cars doing a couple of laps whilst the rest save tyres.

Just split the tyre allocations if you want to do that. You have X available for practice and qualli and Y available for the race. You end up with a session with half a dozen cars doing a couple of laps whilst the rest save tyres.
If Qualli tyres only last 1 flying lap we'll get less track time on Saturdays

How do you mean low grip? The Quali tyres have always and will always be about producing the highest grip over one flying lap possible. Thats why cars and bikes have always gone faster on the quali tyres.
P.s Sorry about the copy and paste but the quote button had vanished when I posted this.

so much for green credentials.... how much energy is spent to produce a tyre lasting one lap.... absolutely the wrong message
Well, since climate change is natural, and there is no 'empirical evidence' that man has any influence at all of the climate of the world.....why should they be worried about the 'Green Credentials'?With regards to the tyres.......
Isn't a big reason for this season's excitement the fact that Team's qualifying strategy impacts on the racing strategy, causing us to see the various different strategies being?
I mean, the benefits during the race haven't always been to the team with the highest number of fresh tyres...has it?
