It's probably happened when my mate crashed Avis' Porsche in 2007 and he won the lawsuit against him in 2009. Even been paid back legal fees As I remember the latest changes the big rental companies now explicitly exclude the Ring from their policies. This is what I have been told.

As the Ring considered a toll road by German officials, Avis had no legal rights to ban it. Now though they probably found the way..

Just rent one over there, Rent4Ring do some Swifts for relatively cheap.
