was not expecting that ..the thing i do not understand is .. i have always been under the impression the FIA Drag racing championships are based on the same Ruling as the NHRA???

i guess this blows the championship wide open .. but i guess he could still hold on depending on results IF his points up to now still stand.

The FIA guidelines encompass all forms of motorsport they cover. The NHRA only polices themselves.

Unfortunate but those are the rules.

If anyone fancies a mind-numbingly boring read of the legalities of all this, the rules are here

Key points are:

Athletes and other Persons shall be responsible for knowing what constitutes an anti-doping rule violation and the substances and methods which have been included on the Prohibited List.

It is each Athlete’s personal duty to ensure that no Prohibited Substance enters his body. Accordingly, it is not necessary that intent, fault, negligence or knowing Use on the Athlete’s part be demonstrated in order to establish an anti-doping rule violation for Use of a Prohibited Substance or a Prohibited Method.

Prescribed or not, unfotunately he has broken the rules

My view is that The Andersens could have released some BS Statement about TJ not feeling well, called back by DSR Etc, but ultimately they've let us all know the full score.

It comes across to me that no matter what, the most dominant car might have lost the championship. It always had the edge on opposition by a little or by a large margin.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned but I'm a little unclear on the championship situation. Is Tommy having all his points stripped, will Thomas's points from Hockenheim be added to Tommys?. Or is it all to play for at the Finals?

No the pionts will not be added together

We will all have to wait for the appeal decision i guess which depending on its outcome raises some questions

Should it be succesful Do the Andersens and Tommy then enter the finals to try to win the championship when they were originally not going to race at this event?

Yes Tommy broke the rules BUT its almost certain that he was going to be a worthy Champion and the Andersens get yet another well deserved Championship so if he remains banned then does that make the championship victory for whoever a bit of a hollow victory ?

Personally i think if commom sense is used he should win his appeal given the circumstances but then when did commom sense prevail

well if my totting up of the points up after Today are correct( usually but not always) If TJ was to keep his Points and not attend the Finals and any one of FIVE drivers Won the finals ( Timo,Anita,Risto,Urs,Micke) then they would be Champ.( 5 out of an 8 car field winning is quite a high possibility) if he managed to make it to the Event with his points intact .. Qualifying would seal the championship.. and if he was stripped of his points .. then it is open to anyone to take the championship.

now i guess we Play the Waiting game. but i think it would be strange if anyone else won the championship this year .. considering no one apart from TJ has won more than 2 Rounds of Racing all season.

so who thinks the top fuel show over the course of this year has been the awesome spectical they expected

for me there has been 1 good team and everyone else has been picking up crumbs,
also for me if anyone else wins i would concider it a bit of a hollow victory,

is that a fair assesment

Yeh would say your on the money there wicked fish with that, lets face it the Andersens have been the dominant force for several years now in Top Fuel and personally it will be a huge loss for European Top Fuel if they are selling up.

O/t, but what sort of budget do you need to do the full tour with a fuel car?

It is a bit disrespectful to Urs and Risto to suggest that the Andersons have dominated TF for some years.

Apologies maybe I didnt word that quite correct, you know where Im coming from though look how many championships the team have won in the last 10years or so a fair few. Im not taking anything away from the likes of Urs and Risto and the rest of the teams, but the Andersen team just seem that little step ahead in terms of professionalism and performane wise.

Yes, I agree.
Urs has won twice and Lex once between 2005 and 2010 with 2 for Carter and 1 for Hakan, so 3 from the last 6 for the team is pretty good. I think the US stuff has been a major distraction for some teams and had they stayed in Europe the results may have been very different.
