Wondered if you "old timers" out there could help - have just purchased my first TVR - '94 Chim 4.0 last Friday - took me several months to source the right one and it was in budget - wifes delighted!!!!
First of not being the tallest person on the planet 5ft 9" the driving position is bugging me as the seats constantly rub under my left knee which is annoying - I know this sounds a bit gay but it is a pain!!!.I was thinking of investing in the Leven race peddles with extra long throttle - Has anyone fitted these and does it alleviate the problem
Secondly the car "hunts" at low speed in traffic do not know whether this is engine or drive chain problems
or do they all do this - car had 36000 mile service 2 months ago - any advice greatly recd
Otherwise car is great and am using it as my daily transport - Cheers Rich

What you need to do is hide the guns and the black labrador and ensure that the Chimaera never wears a tweed jacket or a flat cap.
This should sort out the hunting.
Do they all do this? Well, I don't know, but mine certainly does not like going slowly and will jerk around a bit at low revs, but you can tame it with a bit of clutch control practice. If it wobbles at idle, start with the simple things and that means the stepper motor. Consult Steve Heath's book as to how and where. I wouldn't start thinking of doomsday scenarios yet - can't think why it would be drive-chain, and there are many, many minor things yet before it is likely to be the engine.

You should be able to get comfy in the car - you probably don't need to get the leven pedals just yet. The pedals already have quiet some scope to adjust them - start there first and if you still can't get comfy get the leven pedals then. If you get the pedals, you'll be after the alloy handbrake, screen vents, etc.

Rich,
Just in case you are not aware, the pedal box can be adjusted, at 5"9' should shouldn't need Leven's extension.
My Chimaera doesn't like very slow driving either but this is no longer bothering me. Now clutch control has become second nature.
I wish you many miles of happy motoring.
cheers

If the seat rubs on the back of your knee, what about putting some sort of cushion behind your back to move you that little bit further forward?
If I remember what I read in 'The Bible' correctly, I think TVR can supply a bolster cushion for this very purpose.
