Is it true..? Prices dropping & no demand

Oh dear, any experts know? Wanted to try and sell Griff but not quite sure how to go about it. Don't really want to advertise and have lots of nutters round!! But couple of dealers have said the prices are really dropping on them now and that there's not been much demand. 
Must say, I have been surprised to see approx 50 on PH for sale throughout this year. Any advice please? (please cheer me up!!

Obviously TVR's are not immune to the general economic situation though so maybe there is more supply than demand right now, plus its holiday season which won't help. Come next spring though and the prices for good examples will still be strong.

The dealers are never going to offer you any money! If you take Mr Average dealer and your trying to sell a very low mileage 99 Griff, they will offer you say £13k to buy off you, then advertise it at Griff @ £22k +.
They will say that to you they have to allow for various works to be carried out plus warranties etc. My advise would be to advertise your car privately at a relistic price and it should sell!
Better still keep it until next spring when the sun comes out again, then advertise it.

t out of the classifieds and I've not gone on there every day to check, but there have been a couple of threads of "why isn't my Griffith selling" and there seem to be a few that have been there for a while, also the prices on Ebay (I know I know) are not great either.
So I'm a little undecided. I know everyone keeps saying future classic, E type blah blah blah, but to be honest the market does not appear strong, pricing is high with certain dealers for certain cars.
For me the market looks difficult for Griffiths and is a reflection as stated of the overall economic climate and the fact it's now August, not April and people are less willing to part with big cash for short summer experience.
Perhaps the trend over time is increasing pricing, or at least more likely in my opinion a stabilisation of pricing. But it's got to be for the right car as any other marque. That's not being model specific, rather condition/coulour/spec and price.

As others have said now is the wrong time to sell if you want the best price for your car, wait for Spring if you can.
Dealers will always offer you a fraction of what the car is worth and then put it up on the forecourt for what it is worth, but then this is how they make their money. If you do not want the hassle of selling privately then perhaps a sale on return arrangement with a dealer?
If you wanted another TVR then you could always look at a part-ex arrangement?

Ohhh, sorry, I thought you meant go to a dealer who advertised that they are looking to buy tvrs !!Anyway, I realise that everything I seem to buy is the most hiighly-prized and desirable item at the time... until I come to sell it !
I have been thinking though - who is going to want a 5-litre car in the current climate?? Hmmm, a very limited market

TVRs seem to sell well at certain times of year - March-June seems the best time. After this things peter off a little. I can seriously vouch for this experience.................
My Griff has been up for sale for over 2 weeks and very little response apart from chancers trying to get a bargain offereing my £2k less. At £8995 for my beautiful pre-cat its a bargain, just look at the expense thats gone into it, one of the previuos owners had approx £20k in it, everyone and i mean everyone comments about my chassis.......
Luckily i can afford to leave it sat in the garage for as long as it takes 2,3,10 years but the sad thing is it wont be used..... so once my advert on Pistonheads runs out thats it, nite nite TVR sleep tight...
