So I appear to have been signed on to one of those automatic renewal schemes. mad

Except... it's cheaper than last year and cheaper than quotes from others by at least £100. Have I overlooked something?

Are you able to compare policy vs renewal, maybe they changed something . Ours goes up every year but this year stayed similar and just went up a few pence a month

Yeah, will do that later. The overview looks pretty good irrespective. Unlimited buildings, specified contents which is above my estimate, legal cover. Compared to the other companies, it's just as good in terms of what is covered. In fact, I didn't bother adding legal cover to some of the quotes as it wasn't going to push the price down.

The quote I got from Aviva for home insurance in May this year was around £250 less than any comparable quotation. Infact, the renewal was through AA who gave Aviva as the underwriter so I called Aviva direct for the same policy details.. Result!!

Check they haven't hiked up the excesses, my home insurance renewal looked competitive until I realised they'd tagged on a £250 voluntary excess on top of the mandatory £100.

No, the cover is not spue. biggrin

I can't think there's anything wrong with it; if they've hiked the excess, that's fine with me, too. I wouldn't claim on anything bar me tripping up, head-butting a door and causing the house to collapse even if I'm not powerfully-built.

I just had an amusing thought. The quote I got from More Than was certainly More Than my renewal quote. I'm not sure that was the basis of their name, though. biggrin
