Just looking at my current company car list.

As I expected, we've largely been 'downgraded' due to the economic climate... and I also want to save a bit of cash on my tax bill.

However, I also want all the toys - and need auto and cruise.

The only car that's cheap as chips to tax, comes with auto and cruise, and won't cost me an up-front contribution is the....

Renault Megane 1.5 DCI Dynamique TomTom EDC 5 door hatch.

Has anyone driven one, does anyone have one? - are they actually any good?

Yes, yes and yes.

The EDC gearbox is very smooth and gives seamless gear changes. The Dynamique is a good spec' with TomTom Live sat nav, 17" alloys, hands free entry and cruise.

What this (very smart) bloke said. The 1.5 is a cracking engine, edc box is smooth. TomTom nav is brilliant, Bluetooth too (for calling and music playback)

Some nice colours too, oyster grey ie nice if you fancy something different, or classic black or silver imo.

My folks have an older model with this engine.

Its not what you would call "sporty" but then it was never designed to be.

Cant argue with nearly 60mpg's though!!yikes

Good stuff.

It's by no means a done deal - I'm having to go to Occupational Health for authorisation to order, as they want me to take a re-cycled 'pool' car - which appears to mean an old shape Focus Econetic or old shape Prius - the Focus is manual without cruise, the Prius is auto without cruise.
