Retrofit ipod to R56 mini clubman

Hi all,
I ve had a quick browse of the net but couldn't find anything about this. I want to retrofit the ipod kit to my mini cooper s clubman. I know you can purchase kits, but how easy is the DIY fit? Bmw want to charge two hours labour, but feel i can do it myself. Any guides available? I imagine it is simply disassembly, plug a few leads in, trail the lead into the glovebox and job done?
Does any internal software need changing? Do any wires need splicing?
