Y'all

Any idea what T&C is on a restaurant bill? I'm just doing my expenses and spotted it on a receipt irked

Food xx.xx
Wine xx.xx
T&C 8.00
Soft Drinks x.xx
12.5 Service Charge irked
Total Due

All I can think of is the bread and oils we had before the starters? But what would T&C stand for?

More importantly, can I claim the VAT back? hehe

Was it a 'high-end restaurant'?

I was thinking perhaps a charge for taking and storing coats/jackets?

I don't think it's taxes and charges as the VAT is separate.

Not tea and coffee either, as we didn't have tea and the coffee is listed seperately. As was my chicken hehe

I hope it's not for storing our coats, as we didn't have any.

I'll scan the receipt, hold on thumbup

My mrs who has a degree in hospitality management says its definately Tea and Coffee, you can see the coffees on the bill!

Its not a separate charge, its just the 2 coffees added together.

Yes, Tea and Coffee, they are splitting out the various categories, one assumes because you often get varying tax rates by product..."luxury" tax for wine etc in other countries. Or maybe for people with expense claims which don't include booze (booooo) smile

"Wtf Fernando" hehe

Ah I see, they do a sub-total of everything after showing it individually, certainly looks like tea and coffee.

If they show that as 'T & C', why don't they just put 'W' for wine, 'F' for food on so on...

Cover charge?

Though, I haven't encountered one of those in ages.
